What is Varuno?
Varuno is a personal finance app built on one principle: your financial records belong on your device. Wallets, transactions, budgets, goals, salary history and investments are stored in an encrypted local database. Signing in proves who you are and keys your data to you alone — only your name, email, country and base currency are stored with your account. Payslip and receipt scanning run entirely on-device; images are deleted after import unless you choose to keep a copy locally. When Varuno needs an exchange rate, it sends a currency code — never a balance.
What Varuno does

- Salary history with take-home estimates
- On-device payslip and receipt scanning, with a mandatory review step before anything is saved
- CSV investment-statement import with row-by-row review
- Analytics: net worth, cash flow, savings rate and spending heatmaps
- Plain JSON export, backup and restore
- Face ID or passcode app lock, and a hide-balances mode
- Full account and data deletion
What Varuno does not do
Being clear about this matters as much as the feature list:
- No bank connections and no automatic transaction syncing. All entry is manual, or comes from files you choose to import.
- No cloud backup of your financial data. Your account stores identity metadata only; backups are files you export and keep yourself.
- No financial advice. Take-home pay and CPF figures are estimates, and the app says so wherever they appear.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs, no ads, no crash reporter.
- No PDF import. Payslips and receipts are imported from images; statements from CSV or plain text.
- No Android or web version today. Varuno is currently iOS-only, in TestFlight internal testing.
